Monique Piliè, Executive Director

Monique was born and raised in New Orleans.  After seeing the destruction from Hurricane Katrina, she started a non-profit to help replace the 100,000 trees that were lost in New Orleans due to the storm.  To that end, she started Hike for Katreena, with the goal of planting one tree in New Orleans for each of the 2,175 miles of the Appalachian Trail.  In the months after the storm she quit her job, sold her house and hiked all 2,175 miles of the Trail and started planting trees in New Orleans. In five years, Hike for Katreena planted over 8,000 trees. Monique then handed over the leadership role of the organization but still remains active as an advisory board member.  Monique has been with All Hands since January of 2013 when she started as a Team Leader.  She has worked her way up through All Hands gaining experience as Field Coordinator and then Project Director. She was then promoted as the Director of US Recovery and Repair for All Hands Volunteers. Monique lived in Providence, RI for the last two years and returned to New Orleans in October of 2014. She is happy to be back in her home town and doing work that helps the community and residents of New Orleans. Email:

Meaghan D’Arcy, Training Manager

Meaghan’s first trip to New Orleans was in August of 2007, when she came as a volunteer to rebuild homes. She was struck by the resiliency of the city and its residents, the culture surrounding New Orleans, and the pride that people here had in their community. “Hooked” after this first experience, Meaghan returned as a volunteer every August. Wanting the opportunity to do more, she joined the Americorps, and the St. Bernard Project team as a Site Supervisor in September of 2012, and made her move to New Orleans! Meg is originally from Worcester, Massachusetts, where she was born and raised!). A graduate from Assumption College (Ma.), she worked in the Northborough Public School system for 7 years, and was the assistant varsity softball coach at Worcester Academy. Email:

Willie Autman

Willie Autman, Training Manager & Crew Leader

Originally from Meridian, MS, Willie moved to New Orleans in 1989. Prior to Hurricane Katrina, he worked as a scheduler with the Regional Transit Authority. After Katrina, Willie – like many New Orleanians – lost his job, but he decided to stay on in New Orleans to help rebuild the city. Heeding the advice of his mother, who used to say, “learn how to do more than one thing,” Willie turned to the construction skills he learned as a young man and served as construction manager for various YouBuild Programs in New Orleans and the surrounding areas. According to Willie, what he enjoys most about working with young adults is seeing them gain the confidence and skills they need to be successful in their lives. Willie holds a Bachelors of Science in Education and Technology from Jackson State University. He continues to live with his family in New Orleans.

Stefanie Thomas, Case Manager

Stefanie relocated to New Orleans the summer in 2014 from Vallejo, California. In spite of the sweltering heat and humidity, her vision of spending a year experiencing the city soon expanded to establishing roots. Originally from Washington, D.C., Stefanie received her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Central State University in Wilberforce Ohio. After a brief stint teaching, she obtained her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and spent 7 years as a Mental Health Therapist in Dayton, Ohio. She relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area and worked for 27 years with Child Protective Services of Contra Costa County, first as a social worker, then supervisor and retiring as a Division Manager. Still feeling as though she has more to give, Stefanie found a place with LA Green Corps. Email:
